Pieter Aartsen is a seasoned designer and owner of studio-PA2 since January 2021, specializing in the design and development of exhibitions and interiors for museums and science centers. Aartsen has held a designer position at Naturalis Biodiversity Center Nederland since 1999, contributing to notable projects such as the exhibition "Triceratops de kudde" and the design of "Sapiens, workplace for the Anthropocene." Aartsen served as a commissioner at VU Amsterdam for a brief period in 2022 and has experience as a part-time teacher in Communication, Media, and Design at Avans Hogeschool from 2009 to 2013, focusing on Learning Experience Design. Aartsen has also participated as a juror for the Gouden Reiger Award from 2009 to 2013 and previously worked as a designer at Donald Janssen Ontwerpers. Aartsen’s earlier career includes owning an independent furniture design company from 1989 to 1995. Educational qualifications include degrees from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and AKI Art Academy Enschede.
