Chief Investment Officer at eToro

Gil Shapira is the current Chief Investment Officer at eToro. Prior to this, they served as the CEO of Psagot Investment House from October 2006 to August 2019. There, they were responsible for managing a major index product company with 23B ILS AUM in 160 ETF’s. Gil was also the direct manager for 70 employees, managers and 3 VP’s, leading the company’s business activities and vision. Other responsibilities included overall responsibility for marketing, sales and business development, investment, operations, finance and regulation, and leading the business relations with local banks, global banks, and index providers. Gil also led complex processes - Meitav ETN acquisition (2013), ETF reform (2018). Before Psagot Investment House, Gil Shapira served as Marketing Team Manager at Rakia capital market from January 2005 to September 2006 where they increased bank consultants exposure to company products and was also a member of Rakia Capital Markets management. Prior to that, they completed a management training program at Bank Leumi from January 2003 to December 2004.

Gil Shapira holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Bar-Ilan University, where they majored in finance. Gil also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Bar-Ilan University, where they studied economics, business administration, and psychology.
