Andrés Ayala Novoa

Co2m Data Processing System Engineer at EUMETSAT

Andrés Ayala Novoa has a diverse work experience in the field of space engineering. Andrés started in 2002 at GMV as a Flight Dynamics Engineer, where they developed modules for calculating manoeuvres for the ATV vehicle and analyzed coordinate transformation accuracy. Andrés then worked as a GMV Contractor at the European Space Agency/ESOC from 2004 to 2008, where they supported interplanetary missions such as SMART-1, Mars Express, Venus Express, Herschel, and Plank.

Following that, they became a Galileo Performance Engineer at Thales Alenia Space as a GMV Partner from 2008 to 2013. In this role, they contributed to the signal analysis of the first Galileo satellites and developed performance tools for system monitoring and control. From 2013 to 2019, Andrés worked as a Galileo Mission Analysis Support Engineer at the European Space Agency/ESTEC as a GMV Contractor. There, they maintained and developed mission analysis tools and integrated new physical models.

In 2019, Andrés joined GSA as a GMV Contractor, where they served as a Galileo Reference Centre Operator Engineer. Andrés'sresponsibilities included monitoring and controlling the Galileo constellation, deploying the operational version of the Galileo Reference Centre, and investigating system anomalies. Andrés then moved to EUMETSAT as a GMV Contractor in 2020, taking on the role of a Copernicus Data Processing System Engineer. In this position, they provided operational support for the Copernicus Sentinel-3 Data Processing Ground Center and contributed to designing the next generation Copernicus Data Processing Center.

As of 2022, Andrés continues their work at EUMETSAT as a CO2M Data Processing System Engineer, though specific details of this role are not provided. Overall, their work experience showcases their expertise in space engineering, satellite mission analysis, performance monitoring, and system control.

Andrés Ayala Novoa obtained their Master of Science degree in Space Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. This degree was obtained from 1995 to 2001. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications including Linear and Integer Programming from Coursera in December 2014, R Programming from Coursera in July 2014, and Cryptography I from Coursera in July 2013.
