Hayley Higgins

Hayley Higgins has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and mission planning. Hayley is currently working at EUMETSAT as an Operations Preparations Engineer Sterna since April 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Mission Planning Engineer at EUMETSAT from May 2019 to May 2023. Hayley was also contracted to EUMETSAT from 2001 to 2019, where they worked as a LEO Systems Operations Engineering Consultant, specializing in Mission Planning and Control Systems. Hayley started their career at Serco, contracted to ESOC/ESA in Germany, in 1990 as a Ground Segment Controller before taking on the role of Earth Observation Satellite Mission Planner in the Mission Management and Planning Office. Before entering the satellite industry, Hayley worked as a Telecommunications Engineer at Mercury Communications from 1987 to 1990.

Hayley Higgins attended Great Barr School from 1979 to 1985. Hayley did not earn a degree or pursue any specific field of study during this time. Later, from 1992 to 1998, they attended The Open University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computing and Systems Management.
