Rory Hutson

MTG Product Procurement Support Engineer at EUMETSAT

Rory Hutson has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Rory started as a Software Engineer at Agilent Technologies in 2000 and worked there until 2003. Subsequently, they joined Plymouth Marine Laboratory in 2004 as a Data Analyst/Researcher, where they provided satellite data analysis support to research scientists, students, and research cruises. In 2009, Rory joined Met Office's Satellite Applications group as a Scientific Software Engineer, responsible for the maintenance, development, and operational running of their geostationary satellite processing system. Currently, Rory is working at EUMETSAT as an MTG Product Procurement Support Engineer. Rory'smain focus is on the generation and evolution of processing and format specifications for the Lightning Imager level 2 processing and the Infra-Red Sounder level 1 processing.

Rory Hutson pursued their education with a Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics from The University of Edinburgh, which they completed from 1995 to 2000. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Remote Sensing and Image Processing from the same university, which they successfully achieved between 2003 and 2004.
