Santiago Estébanez

Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Engineer at EUMETSAT

Santiago Estébanez has a diverse work experience in the field of space operations and engineering. Their most recent role is as a Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Engineer at EUMETSAT, starting in April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at HISDESAT from February 2019 to March 2022 as a Spacecraft Operations Engineer, where they were responsible for GEO Routine operations for SPAINSAT and the preparation of operations for new space programs. Santiago also served as an operator at the Spanish Space Surveillance and Tracking Operations Centre (S3TOC). Before that, Santiago worked at Altran, where they held the positions of A400M Airworthiness & Certification Engineer from May 2018 to February 2019, and Junior R&D Consultant from March 2017 to May 2018. At Altran, they were involved in the design of a satellite constellation for telecommunications support to UAVs. Santiago's earlier work experience includes a role as a Técnico de mantenimiento de pistas y plataformas aeroportuarias at Aena from December 2014 to June 2015.

Santiago Estébanez completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics at VIU - Universidad Internacional de Valencia from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2009 to 2017, where they pursued a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
