Sotiris Syrmakezis

Sotiris Syrmakezis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking and financial industry. Most recently, they served as the Managing Director of Alternative Payments for Euronet, starting in October 2023. Prior to that, they were the Chief Executive Officer of Throo, a digital payments and marketing platform, which was acquired by Euronet Worldwide.

Sotiris has also held various advisory and management positions in other organizations. Sotiris was a Board Member and Advisor for Finclude, a creditworthiness and affordability score provider, and served as an advisor on digital transformation for Athens Exchange Group, DIAS Interbanking Systems SA, Bioiatriki Healthcare Group, and European Reliance. Further, Sotiris was the General Manager and Chief Retail, Digital & Technology Officer at Praxiabank, with a focus on becoming the first challenger bank in Greece. Sotiris has also held high-level positions at Eurobank and Piraeus Bank, where they were responsible for leading digital and technology initiatives.
