Egill Karlsson is a professional with diverse experience in community engagement and project management. Currently serving as the Membership & Community Engagement Coordinator at the European Association for International Education since July 2022, Egill previously held the position of Interim Office Manager for the Aurora Universities Network. As a Project Manager at the University of Iceland from September 2018 to October 2021, Egill contributed to various initiatives, supplemented by earlier roles including a Marketing Intern at IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at West Virginia University. Egill's educational background includes a Master of Science in Journalism from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Háskóli Íslands, along with exchange studies in Journalism and Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a diploma in Sports & Music from Idrætshøjskolen Aarhus in Denmark.

The EAIE is the European centre for expertise, networking and resources in the internationalisation of higher education. We are a non-profit, member-led organisation serving individuals actively involved in the internationalisation of their institutions through a combination of training, conferences, research and knowledge acquisition and sharing. Our mission is to advance international higher education, create positive change and promote dynamic collaboration in Europe and beyond. The Annual EAIE Conference, the largest of its kind in Europe, attracts more than 5000 participants.
