Agoritsa Baka

Senior Expert at ECDC

Agoritsa Baka is a Senior Expert at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since March 2018, focusing on country preparedness within the CPS Unit. Previous roles include collaborating expert in the Master of Sciences program on International Medicine-Health Crisis Management, as well as in various European projects at the Institute Prolepsis. Agoritsa has coordinated activities for vector-borne diseases and served as a liaison for EU and international affairs at the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO). Other experience includes managing public health preparedness during the H1N1 pandemic at the National Health Operations Centre and holding multiple expert and leadership positions at ECDC, the University of Athens, and the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. Agoritsa Baka earned an MD in Medicine from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon between 1986 and 1992.
