Niklas Bergstrand

Niklas Bergstrand is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in public health and advocacy. Currently serving as a Communications Officer at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since March 2018, Bergstrand manages media relations, particularly during public health emergencies, and advises on strategic communication for vaccine-preventable diseases and antimicrobial resistance. Previous roles include External Communication Officer for the World Health Organization during the Ukraine emergency response, Advocacy Focal Point for Médecins Sans Frontières in Sweden, and various communication positions within Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium and other organizations. Bergstrand has a Master's degree in Political Science and Government from Lund University.
