Vivian Leung serves as an Antimicrobial Consumption Expert at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since June 2022, leading the European Surveillance of Antimicrobial Consumption Network and providing technical expertise in antimicrobial consumption and resistance. Previously, Vivian held roles as the HAI-AR Program Coordinator and Medical Director at the Connecticut Department of Public Health from September 2018 to May 2022, overseeing HAI-AR surveillance and coordinating the state's COVID-19 response in healthcare settings. Additional experience includes serving as a Per Diem Hospitalist at MidState Medical Center, as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and as a Family Medicine Resident Physician at Emory University School of Medicine. Vivian's early career includes a Fulbright Student Scholar role at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and involvement in educational initiatives focused on sustainable food practices. Vivian holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Science from Northwestern University.
