David R Bell

David R Bell is a distinguished toxicologist with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at the European Chemicals Agency since January 2010, David specializes in toxicology within the Evaluation Directorate. Prior to this role, David worked as an independent expert toxicologist for EFSA from 2008 to December 2009, advising on the acceptability of substances in food contact materials and related areas. Additionally, David contributed as an independent expert member to the Committee on Toxicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment from 2004 to December 2009, providing vital scientific advice to government entities on toxicology and public health. David's academic career includes a position as Reader in Molecular Toxicology at the University of Nottingham from January 1991 to December 2009, and prior postdoctoral research at the Central Toxicology Laboratory of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) from 1988 to 1990. David holds a PhD in Toxicology from the University of London and a BSc in Biochemistry with Toxicology from the University of Surrey.
