Caroline Kaeb

Legal Officer At JRC - Algorithmic Transparency at European Commission

Caroline Kaeb, PhD, LLM, currently serves as a Legal Officer at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, focusing on algorithmic transparency under the Digital Services Act. With extensive experience in policy roles, Caroline has worked on digital legislative files, platform policies, and regulatory sandboxing at the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT). Caroline is also a Senior Lecturer on ICT & Human Rights at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and Co-Director of Business and Human Rights at The Wharton School. Previously, Caroline advised on data privacy and online freedom of expression with the Global Network Initiative and held various positions related to human rights compliance, including as the Project Director for the Center for Human Rights at the American Bar Association. Educational achievements include an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School and a PhD in International Studies from Università di Trento.
