Jan Ceyssens

Jan Ceyssens has extensive experience with the European Commission, serving as Deputy Head of Cabinet for the Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience & Circular Economy since October 2006. In this role, Jan also heads the "Capital Markets Union" and "Digital Finance" units, and has been a member of cabinets for both Vice-President Dombrovskis and Commissioner Barnier, focusing on financial services policy. Prior to this, Jan worked as a Team Leader in financial supervision and as a Case Handler in the Directorate General for Competition. Before joining the European Commission, Jan was a Rechtsreferendar at the Kammergericht Berlin. Jan holds a Master's Degree in European Law from King's College London and a Juris Doctor from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, along with studies at Universita degli studi di Roma La Sapienza and Universität Trier.
