Sofia Maria Satanakis

Sofia Maria Satanakis, M.E.S., is a professional with extensive experience in scientific outreach and research focused on European integration and security policies. Currently serving in a scientific outreach role at IQOQI Vienna - Austrian Academy of Sciences since March 2022, Sofia has also held positions as a Senior Associate Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy since October 2013. Areas of expertise include Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), and relations involving the Western Balkans, Greece, and Turkey. Additional roles include Associate Researcher at the European Council on Foreign Relations since July 2018 and internships at the Austrian and Greek embassies in 2012 and 2013. Sofia holds a Master of European Studies from the University of Vienna and a Bachelor's degree in Balkan Studies from the University of Macedonia.
