Christophe Van Orshoven is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in climate and land-use governance, specializing in sustainable supply chains across Africa, South-East Asia, and Latin America. Currently serving as Team Leader at the European Forest Institute since May 2011, Christophe oversees initiatives including the Technical Facility on Deforestation-free Value Chains and the EU REDD Facility, both aimed at supporting transitions to sustainable practices in commodity production and land-use governance. Prior to this role, contributions included working as an International Forest Policy Expert at the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment, where involvement in the UNFCCC negotiations for REDD+ was pivotal. Educationally, Christophe holds multiple master's degrees in fields such as International Relations, Environmental Science, and Business Economics from esteemed institutions including KU Leuven and the University of Antwerp.
