Josil P. Murray is an experienced professional in forestry and environmental conservation, currently serving as a Technical Expert for the European Forest Institute since June 2022, focusing on the KAMI initiative in Malaysia. Prior experience includes six years as an International Consultant with FAO, managing over 60 forestry projects in Southeast Asia, and a Research Fellow at Bangor University, specializing in biodiversity co-benefits within the REDD+ Climate Mechanism. Josil also held roles at WWF-Malaysia, first as a Forestry Officer leading the High Conservation Value Forest Programme, and previously as a Wildlife Assessment & Monitoring Officer. Josil holds a PhD in Forest Conservation and two MSc degrees in Ethics in Forestry and Environmental Forestry from Bangor University and Università degli Studi di Padova.
