Laurent Cerbonney is a Forest Governance and Timber Legality Assurance Practitioner at the European Forest Institute since May 2018, managing contracts and projects in the Republic of Congo and the Republic of Gabon. Key accomplishments include leading a €2.2 million program for the implementation of the FLEGT VPA in the Republic of Congo, supporting various ministries in timber legality assurance, and developing a Timber Information Management and E-governance system in Gabon. Previously, Laurent served as the Resource Management and Certification Department Head at Vicwood-Thanry from February 2007 to April 2018, overseeing a team of 20 in managing 9 concessions and 7 industrial sites. Laurent began a career in forestry research as a project coordinator at CIRAD from June 2004 to June 2006, following education in Agro-Economics from ISTOM and a Master's degree in Project Development in Ecological Development from the University of Lille 1.
