Yitagesu Tekle Tegegne

Team Leader - Global Forest Governance. Coordinator Circular Bioeconomy Alliance at European Forest Institute

Yitagesu Tekle Tegegne is a seasoned professional in global forest governance with extensive experience at the European Forest Institute. Since January 2021, Yitagesu has served as the Team Leader for Global Forest Governance and Coordinator for the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance. Prior positions include Governance Expert from March 2018 to January 2021 and Researcher/Research Trainee from 2011 to March 2018. Yitagesu holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agriculture and Forestry from the University of Helsinki (2013-2016) and a Master of Science in Forest Management from SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (2009-2011), along with a Master’s in European Forestry from the University of Eastern Finland (2009-2011).
