Joeri Hamvas

Joeri Hamvas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in interinstitutional relations, civil liberties, and public policy within European institutions. Currently serving as a Press Officer and Administrator at the European Parliament since 2015, Joeri has held various key roles, including cluster coordinator for the Internal Security, Police Cooperation, and Counterterrorism at the Committee on Civil Liberties. Additional experience includes volunteering for the transition team of Commissioner-designate Hadja Lahbib at the European Commission, serving as Trilogue Coordinator for COREPER II during the Belgian Presidency, and participating in the Congressional European Parliamentary Initiative. Joeri's educational background includes a Master’s degree in European Politics and a Master’s in Political Science, complemented by language studies and practical experience in marketing and communications within both the private and public sectors.
