Maurizio Geri

EU Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at European Research Executive Agency (REA)

Maurizio Geri (PhD) serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government and as an EU Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the European Research Executive Agency, focusing on NATO-EU cooperation against hybrid threats from Russia and China within the energy-resources-climate security nexus. Geri has extensive experience as a freelance strategic researcher and analyst, providing insights on geopolitics, defense, and security for various think tanks and media outlets since 2013. Current roles also include serving as a Lieutenant in the Italian General Staff and as a POLAD-Media Advisor for Operation EUNAVFOR MED IRINI. Geri's past roles include strategic analysis and advisory positions with NATO, where significant contributions were made towards understanding climate change impacts on security, as well as in research related to MENA and Africa. Geri holds a PhD in International Studies and has pursued advanced education in defense, security, and international relations from numerous prestigious institutions.
