Ruud Cuypers is a senior scientist at TNO, specializing in sustainable process and energy systems, with a focus on medium and long-term storage solutions for solar or waste heat and electricity in low energy buildings and districts. Since May 2009, Ruud has been involved in reactor and active material development, encompassing both theoretical modeling and experimental work. In addition to this role, Ruud serves as an expert evaluator for research proposals at the European Research Executive Agency since November 2022. Previous experience includes co-founding and volunteering for Coöperatie Deelstroom Delft, aimed at enhancing sustainability in the region, and conducting PhD research in organic chemistry at Wageningen University, where significant work was done on solvent-impregnated resins and various analytical techniques. Ruud holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and an engineering degree in Molecular Sciences, both from Wageningen University & Research.
