Sofia Claesson

Sofia Claesson currently serves as a Monitoring Officer at the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) since August 2023, following a position as a Child Protection Expert at the European Union Agency for Asylum. Previous experience includes roles as a Monitoring Officer with OSCE and as a Field Manager and EU Project Coordinator at Rädda Barnen / Save the Children Sweden, where efforts focused on child protection in the refugee and migrant crisis. Additional roles span from Child Friendly Space Supervisor at Lighthouse Relief to a Human Rights Observer with the World Council of Churches in the occupied West Bank. Sofia's expertise encompasses child protection, community engagement, and human rights, supported by a background in mental training and coaching from Skandinaviska Ledarhögskolan and studies at Lund University and the University of Genoa.
