Andrew Petrie

Andrew Petrie has a strong background in engineering and program management in the telecommunications and aerospace industries. Andrew is currently working as a Principal Engineer at OneWeb since 2022. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Task Order Manager at Peraton, overseeing a group of 10 engineers and handling various technical, schedule, budget, and personnel responsibilities. From 2010 to 2020, they served as a Senior Program Manager at GMV, where they successfully delivered five satellite control centers and managed customer relationships across different cultures. Before that, they worked at Hughes Network Systems from 1998 to 2010, holding roles such as Senior/Principal Engineer and Senior Engineer, where they were responsible for project management, system engineering, and technical support for satellite systems. Andrew also has experience as a Senior Engineer at Mercury Communications / Cable and Wireless UK from 1994 to 1998 and as a Senior Engineer at British Telecom from 1989 to 1994.

Andrew Petrie attended Egglescliffe Comprehensive in Cleveland, UK from 1978 to 1983 where they obtained their O levels. Andrew then attended Orwell High School in Felixstowe, UK from 1983 to 1985 where they obtained their A levels. Afterward, Andrew Petrie enrolled at the University of York from 1985 to 1989 and earned their MEng degree in Telecommunication. In November 2004, they obtained a certification as a Chartered Engineer from The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
