Sean Kiernan

Sean Kiernan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry. Sean is currently serving as the Co-Founder and COO of EV Realty since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Development Officer at 8minute Solar Energy from July 2019 to June 2021.

From 2018 to 2019, Sean Kiernan held the position of Executive Director at ReNew Power. Sean was responsible for overseeing the company's operations during that time.

Before joining ReNew Power, they served as the Vice President and General Manager - Solar + Commercial Energy Storage at ENGIE North America Inc. from October 2016 to April 2018. In this role, they developed and implemented the company's strategy for deploying energy storage solutions.

From 2011 to 2016, Sean Kiernan worked at SunEdison, where they held multiple leadership positions. Sean was the Vice President, Grid Connected Energy Storage, leading the company's efforts in developing and owning grid connected energy storage systems. Sean also served as the Vice President and General Manager - Utility Scale Solar, managing the company's utility-scale solar project business.

Prior to SunEdison, Sean Kiernan worked at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) as the Vice President of Development from 2009 to 2011. Sean led the development of utility-scale solar projects and played a key role in creating shareholder value.

Earlier in their career, Sean Kiernan worked at Ausra as the Director of utility-scale solar thermal power projects. Sean was responsible for project siting and development, including due diligence and permitting.

Sean began their career at InterGen in 1996, where they supported project development teams globally and contributed to the creation of a portfolio of assets exceeding 17,000MWs in seven countries.

Sean Kiernan attended Radford University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. Following this, from 1998 to 2000, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management at Tufts University.
