Tim Simpson

Tim Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Tim is currently employed as a Principal Cloud Engineer at Event Store since January 2021. Prior to this, Tim worked at Rackspace Technology for a significant portion of their career. Tim started at Rackspace as a Software Engineer II in May 2008, initially focusing on the customer-facing control panel and later transitioning to backend billing services. Tim then joined the Cloud Database team, where they contributed to the Rackspace Cloud Database product and the OpenStack Trove project as a Software Engineer III. Tim played a crucial role in writing multiple features and maintaining integration tests for Trove. In October 2013, they were promoted to the position of Software Engineer IV and became part of the Multi-Cloud Engineering team. In this role, they developed and maintained microservices for Rackspace Managed Security, monitoring customer devices across different clouds and datacenters using AWS serverless technologies. Prior to their tenure at Rackspace, Tim worked at BluePhoenix Solutions - ASNA as a Release Engineer and Senior Test Engineer from 2003 to 2008. During this time, they wrote test suites and harnesses for ASNA's Visual RPG programming language for .NET, and successfully grew the QA organization to a team of four.

From 2001 to 2005, Tim Simpson attended The University of Texas at San Antonio where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
