Charles P.

Charles P. has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Charles is currently working at Eventbrite as the Chief Information Security Officer, starting in November 2022. Prior to this role, Charles held the position of VP, Information Security / CISO at FourKites, Inc. from March 2021 to November 2022. In this role, they developed the vision and strategy for the organization's security and compliance programs and led teams of security engineers, operations, application, compliance, and program management.

Before FourKites, Charles served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at SailPoint from April 2019 to March 2021. During their tenure, they developed a highly proactive security program, consolidated security functions, and built a world-class security program and team from the ground up.

From November 2009 to March 2019, Charles worked at HomeAway, Inc. (now VRBO), where they held the position of Senior Director, Global IT Security. Charles acted as the CISO for HomeAway and all its brands, enabling the company to achieve and sustain hyper-growth through improved security and business alignment. Charles also developed the vision and strategy for a proactive Security Program.

Charles has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at St. Edward's University from February 2007 to March 2010, teaching network security, security operations, and incident response programs. Charles built and led advanced labs focusing on penetration testing and remediation practices.

Additionally, Charles has held roles at Symantec as a Principle Security Consultant from October 2007 to November 2009, at Internet Security Systems, Inc (an IBM company) as a Principle Security Consultant from October 2005 to September 2007, at BearingPoint as a Senior Security Consultant from 2003 to 2005, at dNovus RDI as a Senior Security Consultant from 1999 to 2003, and at The Blind Maker, Inc. as a Network / System Administrator from 1997 to 1999.

Throughout their career, Charles has demonstrated expertise in developing security strategies, leading teams, aligning security functions with organizational goals, and building proactive and world-class security programs.

Charles P. completed their education with a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) / Security from St. Edward's University in 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Management (CSM) / Security from the same university in 2002. The start years for both degrees are not provided.
