Oded Vainas

Oded Vainas has extensive work experience in various roles in the field of data, AI, and core engineering. Oded is currently serving as the Director of Data, AI & Core Engineering at EverC, where they started in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Head of Data at Pagaya Investments from March 2021 to May 2022. Oded also has experience as the Head of Research and Algorithms at SimilarWeb from July 2018 to March 2021.

Before joining Pagaya Investments and SimilarWeb, Oded worked at Microsoft as a Senior Data Scientist Lead from November 2016 to July 2018. Prior to that, they served as a Data Science Team Leader at Intel Corporation from September 2014 to November 2016, leading a team responsible for developing machine learning and data-driven algorithms for wearable devices.

Oded also has experience at Microsoft as a Researcher II from August 2011 to September 2014. During their time at Microsoft, they conducted applied research and algorithm development, specializing in areas such as personalization, online advertising, and data mining. Oded also worked as a Research Intern at Microsoft from September 2010 to August 2011.

Before joining Microsoft, Oded worked at Optimata, where they held multiple roles from August 2006 to September 2010. Oded served as a Group Leader, Bio-Simulations, managing multi-disciplinary projects in model-based drug development. Oded also worked as a Project Manager, Bio-Simulation Group, leading projects in drug development in oncology, and as a Bio-Simulations Expert, utilizing bio-mathematical modeling and simulation methodologies.

Prior to their time at Optimata, Oded worked as a Bioinformatics Research Associate at Tel Aviv Sorasky Medical Center from September 2002 to September 2006, where they developed computational tools for data mining and analysis in clinical data. Oded also worked as a Software Engineer at UltraShape from September 2003 to August 2004, where they designed and developed electronic case report forms for clinical studies.

In addition to their professional experience, Oded served in the Israel Defense Force (IDF), attaining the rank of Major (res) from December 1996 to October 2000.

Oded Vainas obtained a High School Graduate degree in Computer Science & Chemistry from Ehad Haam between 1993 and 1996. Oded then pursued their undergraduate studies at Bar-Ilan University from 2001 to 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computational Biology. Following this, Oded Vainas continued their education at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics & Microbiology from 2004 to 2006.
