Shirley Hung

Shirley Hung is a partner at Everest Group. Shirley was previously employed at Rio Tinto from 2013 to 2017, where they served as General Manager (Strategy). In this role, they led functional strategy development to reach world-class performance, including defining long-term vision and its achievement for Business Services & Support, Global Business Services, and Organizational Resources. Shirley oversaw design and execution of global, function, and office-specific location strategies resulting in more than $25 million in annual operating cost savings.

From 2008 to 2012, Shirley was employed at Rio Tinto as Group Advisor (Human Capital Planning). In this role, they established a framework to align talent decisions directly to business and people strategy and priorities by designing an approach towards understanding the internal/external labor market through implementation of improved people planning processes and tools. Shirley created Rio Tinto’s human capital planning maturity model to monitor capability progression across the Group.

Prior to their employment at Rio Tinto, Shirley worked as a Senior Associate at Mercer from 2007 to 2009 and as Benchmark Director at The Hackett Group from 2004 to 2006.

Shirley Hung holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MSc in Philosophy, Policy and Social Value from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Shirley has also completed a Certificate of Completion in Data Science: From Data to Insights from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
