Miranda D. is a seasoned financial accounting professional with extensive experience in the utility sector. Currently serving as Sr. Manager Financial Accounting at Evergy since July 2017, Miranda leads a cross-functional team responsible for executing the monthly accounting closing process, critical for financial reporting compliance and business decision support. Previously, Miranda held the position of Sr. Manager Benefits Accounting, overseeing US GAAP and regulatory accounting for substantial pension assets. Miranda's prior experience at Westar Energy includes roles as Manager of Corporate Compliance, where oversight of internal controls for financial reporting was a key responsibility, and as Senior Auditor and Benefits Accountant, where duties encompassed audit project leadership and financial reconciliations. Miranda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Fort Hays State University and an Associate of Science in Accounting from Colby Community College.
