Business Development Manager at Everything But the House

Tessa Laney has a diverse work history beginning with an internship at the National Geographic Society in 2007. Tessa later worked as a Development Intern with the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation in 2010 before taking a position as a Photo Library Archivist with Care USA. In 2012, they briefly worked as a Membership and Annual Giving staff member at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. From 2014 to 2021, Tessa worked at FREEMAN’S in several roles, including Consignment Coordinator, Associate Specialist, Senior Specialist, and Head of Department, British & European Furniture & Decorative Arts. In early 2022, Tessa became the Head of Business Development at Oakridge Auction Gallery until they finally landed in a position as Business Development Manager with EVERYTHING BUT THE HOUSE (EBTH) in May 2023.

Tessa Laney has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Political Science from Emory University, which they earned in 2008. In 2013-2014, they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Art History, Criticism and Conservation from The University of London Institute in Paris. Tessa later earned a Master of Arts degree in Visual Studies: Costume History from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in 2020. Additionally, Laney has two certifications under their name - "Curating Fashion and Dress" from Victoria & Albert Museum, obtained in February 2018, and "Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice" from Appraisers Association of America.
