Gayle Mackail

Gayle Mackail has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Gayle started their career at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh in 1998, where they held various roles in events and sales until 2010. Gayle then moved on to Turnberry, A Luxury Collection Resort, Scotland, where they worked as an Account Director for Marketing Partnerships & Events from 2010 to 2012, and later as an Assistant Director of Marketing from 2013 to 2013.

In 2013, Gayle joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. as the Director of Marketing for Scotland, overseeing the marketing functions of two hotels, including the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh. In 2014, they took on an expanded role as the Director of Marketing for Edinburgh & London Heathrow. During their time at Starwood, Gayle played a significant role in marketing their extensive portfolio of properties before the company was acquired by Marriott International in 2016.

Following their tenure at Starwood, Gayle briefly worked as the Director of Marketing at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh in 2016. Gayle then joined KDMedia Ltd, one of the largest independent event companies in Scotland, as the Marketing Director from 2017 to 2020. In this role, Gayle managed a portfolio of national business award programs, conferences, and trade shows.

During 2020, Gayle had several concurrent roles. Gayle worked at Wolffe, a creative studio, as a Design Project Manager from October 2020 to January 2021. Additionally, they took on a freelance consultancy position as a sales and marketing consultant during the same period. From February 2021 to October 2022, Gayle worked at Evessio, an event management software company, initially as an Account Manager and later as an Operations Manager.
