Allison Hubel, PhD has had a distinguished career in both academia and industry. Currently, they serve as the President Elect for the Society for Cryobiology, a prestigious organization in the field. Prior to this, they held various roles at the University of Minnesota, including Director of the Technological Leadership Institute, Director of the Biopreservation Core Resource, and Professor. Allison started their tenure at the university as an Assistant Professor and eventually became an Associate Professor.
In 2019, Allison Hubel founded Evia Bio, where they currently hold the position of Founder and CSO. At Evia Bio, they have developed organic compounds that improve cell stability and integrity during cryopreservation, aiming to overcome the challenges associated with the conventional DMSO technology.
Allison Hubel, PhD has a diverse education background in engineering. Allison pursued their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. After completing their undergraduate studies, Allison went on to pursue their Masters in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Allison then continued their academic journey at MIT and successfully obtained a PhD in Engineering.
