Allison Shapiro

Allison Shapiro, PhD is currently working at Evidation as the Lead Data Scientist since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Data Scientist at Evidation from June 2021 to March 2023. Allison started their career at Evidation as a Data Scientist in June 2019 and worked until June 2021.

Before joining Evidation, Allison completed their PhD at UC Santa Barbara from September 2013 to June 2019, where they focused on researching the neuroscience of human cognition and behavior. Their research involved studying various aspects of decision making, conscious awareness, sense of agency, and motor control using neuroimaging, neurostimulation, and statistical and neuroeconomic models.

Allison also worked as a Research Assistant & Lab Manager at the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute from July 2010 to September 2013. In addition, they served as a Non-Profit Operations Specialist at the National Writing Project from January 2009 to June 2010.

During their undergraduate years, Allison gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at IVRY LAB from February 2009 to May 2010, and at Prinzmetal Attention Lab from September 2008 to May 2010.

Allison began their career as a Marketing Research Project Manager at RDAssociates, Inc. in May 2007 and worked until August 2009.

Allison Shapiro, PhD, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley from 2006 to 2010. Allison then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychological and Brain Sciences at UC Santa Barbara from 2013 to 2019.
