Dan Rosen

Co-Founder & CEO at Evil Eye Pictures

Dan is Co-Founder & CEO of Evil Eye Pictures. He has contributed to award-winning films and special projects for over 25 years. Working as a compositor on The Matrix and What Dreams May Come, Academy Award winners for Best VFX, Dan moved into supervision on The Matrix Sequels and other WB projects.

Founding Evil Eye Pictures in 2004, Dan led key visual effects on over 30 films, including Academy Award winners for Visual Effects The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. In 2008 Dan contributed standards in vfx workflows to the Visual Effects Society Handbook.

Dan moved into real-time producing VR content for Google Spotlight Stories. Most notably Pearl, which earned Evil Eye an Emmy, was also nominated for an Academy Award, awarded a Peabody and two Annies. Evil Eye has continued to focus on real-time working in Unreal Engine and producing content for Pysonix’s Rocket League and many special projects for Fortnite and Epic Games, including The Matrix Awakens experience.

Evil Eye was awarded an Epic MegaGrant in 2020 which jump started the development of FUTURE.STAGE, a real-time, remote capture and animation software platform.

From his undergraduate studies in Design at University of California at Los Angeles to visual effects and immersive virtual reality experiences, Dan has always focused on the convergence of art and technology. Dan’s main focus today is growing the Evil Eye family and continuing to design amazing images for their clients.
