Michal Avitzour

Michal Avitzour has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and genomics. They started their career as a Research Associate at the Israel Ministry of Health in December 2017, where they worked until October 2018. They then joined UCSF as a Research- Bioinformatics from September 2015 to May 2017. Michal's career at Evogene began in July 2018 as a Bioinformatician, and they stayed in this role until July 2019 when they took on the role of Product Development Manager and Computational Genomics Scientist. Currently, Michal is employed at Evogene as a Bioinformatics Scientist, a position they have held since July 2021.

Michal Avitzour obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem between 2004 and 2006. Subsequently, from 2008 to 2013, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Genetics, also at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
