Shawn S. Smith, PhD, PMP has extensive work experience in business, industry, government, and academia. From May 1980 to December 2021, they worked as a Business Developer, Systems Engineer, and Educator. In January 2015, they joined The University of Texas at El Paso as a Lecturer in Systems Engineering and later served as the Chair of the IMSE Advisory Board from April 2016 to April 2021. In December 2021, they became the Vice President of Business Development and Senior Systems Engineer at Evoke Consulting, LLC. In this role, they lead strategic solutioning for new and recompete opportunities, leads deal teams, and enables the growth team including BD, Capture, and Proposal Management.
Shawn S. Smith, PhD PMP, has an extensive education background in various fields. Shawn S. obtained their Ph.D in Organization and Management/Information Technology Management from Capella University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In 2013, Shawn earned a Professional Certificate in Online Teaching from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on education. Additionally, in 2018, they completed the Teaching Online Academy program at The University of Texas at El Paso.
Shawn also holds a Systems Thinking Certificate from Cornell University, which they obtained in 2020. Moreover, they are a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) accredited by the Project Management Institute since August 2011.
