Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.
As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
To support our continued rapid growth, we are looking for a Build Technician to join the team. Reporting to our Manufacturing Build Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing, test and inspection tasks within Evolito’s manufacturing facility, in accordance with product certification procedures, allocated budgets, and timescales to meet project objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manufacture of sub-assembly and final assembly build to the set requirements
Ensuring manufacturing build, inspection and, where relevant, test times are met
Following manufacturing build plans to ensure target completion
Performing rework of production parts where required
Carrying out assembly alignment tasks where required
Maintaining the company's required level of workmanship standards and product quality
Ensuring compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process
Certifying the product in line with the certification procedure
Maintaining product certification and approval via participation in regular audits
Assisting the Manufacturing Engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve the manufacturing process
Skills and experience required:
City and Guilds, HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
Previous proven experience with a manufacturing/engineering environment, ideally within the aerospace or automotive industry
Industry recognised mechanical and wiring assembly skills, use of tools and general fault-finding skills
Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions, mechanical drawings, electronic schematics and wiring schedules, mechanical and electronic Bills of Material
Familiarity with the use and application of lean manufacturing/process improvement tools and techniques
Experience utilising problem-solving techniques
Ability to lift up to 25kg on occasion with appropriate manual handling techniques
IT literate within MS Office
A flexible approach to work with a positive, “can-do” attitude
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise a varied workload
Desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
