Joel Porter

Joel Porter's work experience begins in 2014, during their time as a student at Cardiff University. In 2015, they worked as a Shop Assistant at Barry Angling Centre, where they took on high responsibility and even set up an online sales page and CCTV system.

In 2016, Joel worked as a Mechanical Placement Student at Dow Performance Silicones, supporting the rotating equipment engineer and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

In 2018, they worked as a Bar Waiter at Peppermint Bar & Kitchen, where they focused on customer satisfaction and sales. The role required strong communication skills and the ability to handle fast-paced work environments.

From 2019 to 2021, Joel served as an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer at ELMATIC (CARDIFF) LIMITED. Joel designed bespoke electrical resistance heaters for industrial use, managed three product lines, and communicated with the workshop supervisors and sales team.

In 2021, Joel transitioned to the role of Project Engineer at ALTEN LTD - UK, where they worked until 2022.

Finally, in 2022, Joel started working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Evolito Ltd.

Joel Porter started their education at Barry Comprehensive School from 2007 to 2012, where they earned their GCSE(s). Joel then attended Barry Sixth Form between 2012 and 2014. Following that, Joel pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, completing their studies from 2014 to 2019.
