Richard Shepherd received their Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Bath from 1984 to 1988. Richard then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the Application of thin film sensors to HP turbine blades at The University of Salford from 1995 to 1999. Therefore, they have a strong background in both physics and the application of thin film sensors.
