Lead Mechanical Engineer at Evolito

Sam Walker has over 10 years of work experience in mechanical engineering. They currently hold the position of Lead Mechanical Engineer at Evolito Ltd, where they started in August 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at Animal Dynamics Limited from October 2021 to August 2022.

Sam also has extensive experience at YASA: e-motors for hybrid and electric vehicles, where they held various roles. They started as a Design Engineer in January 2017 and worked their way up to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in February 2018. Their responsibilities included designing and drawing electric motor components, discussing components with customers and suppliers, and participating in project discussions.

Before YASA, Sam worked at Gilbert Gilkes and Gordon Ltd as a Senior Analysis Engineer and Senior Hydraulic Engineer, focusing on pump design. They were responsible for running simulations, creating 3D models, and leading improvement projects. Sam began their career at Gilbert Gilkes and Gordon Ltd as a Design Engineer, where they led NPI projects and performed engineering actions.

Outside of their engineering career, Sam volunteered at Animal Rescue Cumbria from September 2015 to January 2017. Additionally, they gained experience as a Sales Assistant at Homebase from May 2007 to July 2010.

Sam Walker's education history starts with their attendance at The Queen Katherine School from 2000 to 2009, during which they did not obtain a specific degree or field of study. Following their time at The Queen Katherine School, Sam attended Birmingham City University from 2009 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering. Finally, Sam completed their undergraduate studies at Northumbria University from 2010 to 2013, obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering.
