Dr. Florian Boehl

Dr. Florian Boehl, MBA, PLY has a diverse work experience in the fields of epigenetics, diagnostics, and molecular biology. Dr. Florian held various roles at Evonik, including Head of Data Driven Business (Epigenetic Solutions) and Head of Animal Diagnostics, where they focused on developing innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and agriculture industries. At Leica Biosystems, they served as an Innovation Program Manager, responsible for the development of molecular diagnostics technologies. Prior to that, they worked at Roche Diagnostics as a Senior Team Leader and Group Leader in research and development. Dr. Boehl also has experience in academia, having held positions at the University of Cambridge and the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. Dr. Florian holds a Dr. rer. nat. (equivalent to a PhD) from the University of Heidelberg.

Dr. Florian Boehl has a strong educational background in the field of biology and business. Dr. Florian earned a Diploma in Biology (equivalent to M.sc) from Heidelberg University in 1996, with a focus on Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology/Virology, and Organic Chemistry. Dr. Florian then pursued their passion for research, completing a Diploma thesis in Biology (equivalent to a Master's thesis) at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in 1996. Dr. Boehl continued their academic journey, obtaining a Dr. rer.nat. (equivalent to PhD) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University in 2001. Recognizing the importance of business knowledge, they further enhanced their skills by earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategy, Innovation, and Global Marketing from OU Business School (UK) in 2013.
