Dr Rebecca Docherty

Dr. Rebecca Docherty is a Senior Scientist in in silico drug discovery at Evotec, a position held since February 2022. Previously, Dr. Docherty served as a Commercialisation Scientist at the University of Liverpool from June 2014 to February 2022, where leadership of a team of 35 computer scientists and chemists resulted in the translation of academic research into practical technologies, securing over £8 million in funding, and earning multiple prestigious awards. Dr. Docherty has also gained experience as a Data Science Fellow at Science to Data Science, a Business Manager at Sheffield Healthcare Gateway, a Research Scientist at Sekisui Medical Co,. LTD., and a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology. Dr. Docherty holds a PhD in Chemistry with a focus on Quantum Computing from The University of Manchester, an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Bath, and a degree in Chemistry from The University of Manchester with studies in North America.
