David Hosfield

Principal Scientist at Evozyne

David Hosfield has a strong academic and professional background in the field of structural biology and drug discovery. David is currently working as a Principal Scientist at Evozyne since April 2022. Previously, they held the position of Senior Research Professional at the University of Chicago from June 2012 to April 2022. Prior to that, David worked at Takeda as a Principal Scientist, where they played a key role in developing research strategies and methodologies for drug discovery and structural biology projects. During this time, they led a cross-functional project team and successfully characterized various drug-discovery targets using x-ray crystallography. Before Takeda, David served as a Senior Scientist at Syrrx, where they led efforts to crystallize and communicate the structures of anti-infective proteins and implemented automation procedures for high throughput crystallization. David also contributed to protein expression and crystallization strategies for the protein kinase family. David started their career as a Grad Student at The Scripps Research Institute. Overall, David's experience highlights their expertise in structural biology, drug discovery, and project management.

David Hosfield earned a Ph.D. in Macromolecular and Cellular Structure and Chemistry from Scripps Research, which they attended from 1996 to 2001. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba between 1994 and 1996. David began their tertiary education at the same university and earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry from 1990 to 1994.
