Alexander van Liefland

Alexander van Liefland is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the corporate legal sector. Currently serving as General Counsel and Legal Director at Exact since September 2023, Alexander oversees all legal, compliance, and integrity matters. Previous roles include General Counsel for Aegon International and General Counsel for Aegon Continental Europe, where responsibilities spanned Southern and Eastern Europe, Asia, and Brazil, and included being a member of the regional management team. Alexander also held positions as Head of Legal for Aegon N.V., General Counsel for Aegon Asia, and Senior Legal Counsel, focusing on complex transactions. Earlier in the career, experience was gained as a lawyer at Allen & Overy and Loyens & Loeff, providing advice on corporate, M&A, and banking transactions. Alexander holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Leiden University and has additional education from the University of Cape Town.
