Peter van der Velden is an accomplished entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience in the life sciences and medical technology sectors. As the Founder and Managing Partner of Lumira Ventures since 2007, Peter focuses on partnering with mission-driven entrepreneurs to develop transformative healthcare solutions. Additionally, Peter has served on the boards of several companies, including Exact Imaging, Medexus Pharmaceuticals, Edesa Biotech, and AmacaThera, contributing to the advancement of innovative medical treatments and technologies. Peter's previous leadership roles include President and CEO at MDS Capital and Fusion Capital, as well as President of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Pathology from Queen's University, an MBA in Finance and Policy from Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queen's University.
