Abigail Patalinghug

Research Associate (molecular Immunology) at Exagen

Abigail Patalinghug has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Abigail recently joined Exagen Inc. in 2022 as a Research Associate in Molecular Immunology. In this role, they focus on developing, optimizing, and validating new diagnostic assays, particularly in sample preparation and gene expression profiling. Abigail also performs data analysis, troubleshoots technical issues, and writes standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other documents. Additionally, Abigail manages clinical study reporting and resolves any deficiencies between collaborators and the clinical lab.

Prior to their current position, Abigail worked at PerkinElmer as an RNA Extraction Tech from 2020 to 2022. There, they were part of a small team in R&D, conducting high-throughput NGS library preparation on COVID-19 samples. Abigail operated and maintained machinery for RNA extraction and NGS processes, troubleshooting as needed. Abigail also performed quality control on processed samples for the final library.

Abigail has previous experience in the hospitality industry, having worked as a VIP Host/Server at STRATOSPHERE TOWER CASINO & HO in 2019 and 2020. Abigail also worked as a Hostess at Caesars Entertainment, Inc. from 2016 to 2018.

In terms of their education, Abigail served as a Research Assistant and Math and Science Tutor at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas from 2018 to 2019. Abigail also worked as a High School Tutor at Beacon Academy from 2014 to 2016.

Abigail Patalinghug pursued their education from 2015 to 2020 at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry.
