Alexandra Smith

Alexandra Smith has been working in the automation engineering field since 2014. Alexandra began their career at uBiome as a Lab Automation Engineer and Research Associate, where they managed daily operations of the production lab and trained new laboratory associates. Alexandra was then promoted to Automation Operations Group Lead. In 2012, Smith began working at Genentech as a Research Associate in the Clinical Assays and Technologies Group and an Intern in the Oncology Biomarker Development Group. Alexandra then took a role as a Marketing Consultant at Z-Circut Automation in 2008. From 2007 to 2012, Smith was a student researcher at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they earned their MS and BS in Biology. Alexandra also conducted research on the effects of hypoxia on hematopoietic stem cells. In 2005, Smith was a student researcher at Stanford University, where they evaluated hematopoietic stem cells for muscle healing. Smith joined Phylagen in 2019 as a Senior Process Automation Engineer, and they are currently working at Exai Bio as a Staff Automation Engineer.

Alexandra Smith attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2007 to 2011, where they received their Bachelor of Science in Biology. Alexandra then continued their studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and obtained their Master of Science in Biology in 2012.
