Hélène Tonchia

Hélène Tonchia serves as the Director of Innovation and Intellectual Property at exail since July 2020, with significant contributions to the open-source cartography Python library, cartopy. With a rich background in systems engineering, Hélène previously held the position of Information Technology System Architect at Airbus Defence and Space, where responsibilities included improving performance for military geographic information systems. Hélène also acted as VP and secretary for the IEEE France section and has extensive experience in marine data analysis, research and development, and managing international vessel operations in various roles at CGG and CGGVeritas. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from École Polytechnique and a Master of Science in Ocean Engineering from ENSTA.
