Rudi A. Blondia has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Rudi A. began their career in 1974 as a Technology Consultant, where they gained expertise in various areas such as nuclear metrology, music synthesis, acoustics, and laser vector displays. Rudi A. also had a strong background in electronics, having designed numerous circuit boards and developed firmware and software for microprocessor applications.

In 1991, Rudi joined LaserMedia as the Director of Engineering, where they focused on developing special effects features using lasers and high-intensity lights for amusement parks, movies, and music industry concerts. Rudi A. also worked with notable individuals in the music and movie industry during this time.

In 2002, Rudi transitioned to PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, where they initially worked as the Director of Engineering until 2006. Rudi A. then assumed the role of Director of Lighting Technology, responsible for R&D and related engineering for the Global Lighting Division. Their work primarily centered around Xenon Short Arc Lamps, Pulsed Xenon and Flash Lamps, and LED Light Emitting Diodes. Additionally, they supported strategic goal setting, business development, technical roadmaps, and developed strategic alliances.

In 2010, Rudi joined Excelitas Technologies as the Chief Technology Officer, Lighting, and later became the Vice President of Technology, Lighting. In these roles, they continued to drive R&D and advanced technology for the Global Lighting Division, focusing on various lighting technologies such as Xenon Short Arc Lamps, Excimer lamps, and LED Light Emitting Diodes. Rudi A. also played a key role in driving innovation, supporting IP and business development, and developing strategic alliances.

Rudi A. Blondia studied at the Koninklijk Muziek Conservatorium te Gent from 1977 to 1984, where they pursued multiple degrees in Harmony, Music History, Solfimisation, Music Theory, Composition, and Conducting. Prior to that, from 1974 to 1975, they attended Ghent University, although the degree obtained is not specified.
